Keyword Selection For Search Engine Optimization : SEO
Choosing your primary keywords may be one of the most difficult parts of good SEO. It is also one of the most important element of SEO. When you begin optimizing your website for search engines, you will need to choose one primary keyword or keyword phrase, and four to six secondary keywords.
These keywords are going to be essential later on. You won't just use them for a single page on your website. Instead, they should feature prominently on each page of your website, in any website-related blogs, in any website-related newsletters, and in any website-related press releases.
With that in mind, look for keywords that will stand the test of time. Avoid keywords that are too general; you want targeted keywords for targeted traffic. But don't swerve to the opposite extreme; a keyword is no good if it's something so specific that no one would ever search for it.
Your secondary keywords can be a little more flexible than your primary keyword or keyword phrase. Pick the words people are most likely to use when searching for your product or information. You should ideally have between four and six secondary keywords, but if necessary, pick as many as ten. Don't go above ten, as too many keywords end up diluting the importance of any of your keywords.
Look for a blend of general and specific secondary keywords. Better yet, make one or two of them keyphrases, such as "handcrafted knit scarves" that blend the specifics of the three words together with the generalness of each individual word.
Once you have your keywords, don't limit them to just your website. Use your primary keyword phrase every time you link to your website, in blogs, in newsletters, and in RSS feeds. Don't overlook relevant forum signatures! The right keywords, used in the right way, can be invaluable.

Link Building For Effective Search Engine Optimization
When you begin the task of acquiring quality and relevant backlinks to your website there are many factors that can increase or decrease your search engine rankings. This article outlines the difference between good and bad backlinks.
A quality backlink pointing to your site should be in the same category and relevant in content to your website. The page where your link is located should be indexed by Google and the page should also have a Google page rank. The webpage where your link is located should also contain no more than 30 other out-going links to other websites. Link pages with more than 30 out-going links are less relevant to the search engines. Having your link posted on this type of webpage can affect your search engine rankings in a negative way. Other excellent techniques of acquiring backlinks are directory submissions, posting articles, blogs and forums.
For directory submissions select the proper directory category and take a look at how many other websites are contained in the category where your link would be posted, if you can manage to get on the first or second page of the listings, this is a quality backlink. Also look at the Google page rank of the landing page for your link. If the page has a Google page rank this is also a quality backlink.
Stay within your category, relevant content is very important to the search engines. Write an article preferably relevant in content to your website and submit the article to high quality article directories. Blogs are an excellent way to get quality one-way backlinks, Blog sites also receive tons of traffic, which in turn give your site more exposure. Posting your link on forum pages is also an efficient method of acquiring backlinks instantly.
Backlinks to avoid would be a zero page ranked webpage, especially if the home page has a zero page rank. Links posted within framed webpages which will also steal your traffic. Especially avoid link farms, webpages which contain more than 100 unrelated outgoing links, This type of link page is frowned upon by many major search engines. Avoid Webpages with mirror sites containing the exact same content with a different URL, also pages that utilize redirects and URL cloaking. Never post your link on a webpage that contains a "no follow" or "no index" robots meta tag within the source code. Dynamic websites with question marks in the URL should be avoided because they are not always indexed by the search engines.
Avoid posting your link on a page that opens very slow or contains mostly ads and flash banners. Try not to aquire or purchase great numbers of backlinks in a short period of time, backlinks should be accumulated gradually. Also avoid webpages and directories that list their results in alphabetical order, as their database increases your link could be moved to a less relevant page with less pagerank. Quality backlinks are one of the most important factors involved in the process of achieving high search engine ranking.

3 Search Engine Optimization Tips For High Search Engine Rankings
Contrary to what you may have heard and assumed, search engine optimization really isn't that difficult. In fact, it’s really only about three things: keywords, content, and linking. If you can get a grasp on those three things then you've come fairly close to mastering search engine optimization. Of course you're safest best is always to use a professional, but if you're interested in doing it yourself then here's what you need to know.
1. Keywords
The Google Keyword Tool is your best friend when it comes to choosing keywords. Simply type in the words or terms you think your target audience will use when searching for products and services similar to yours. Trying using entire phrases instead of single words. Let's say your company sells unicycles. Instead of simply optimization for the word 'unicycles' try optimization for 'buy a unicycle'. The more specific your phrase is, the less competition you will have in optimizing for it. Write down the top three words that you want to optimize for as those will heavily influence your content.
2. Content
Content ranks right up there with links as the most important aspect of your search engine optimization efforts. Content is the key to optimization success. The business of search engines is to provide users with the information they're looking for; otherwise those users will go somewhere else. In order to give users what they're looking for, search engines have to give users webpages that are most relevant to the search terms that they entered. So search engines are looking for pages with the most relevant and helpful information for users. If your website has the most helpful and relevant information about unicycles, then your page will receive a high ranking from Google and will show up on the first page of search engine results, if not in the top spot. So instead of trying to trick the search engines by cramming a lot of keywords into content, simply provide content that will provide your target audience with the information they need about your product or service.
3. Links
Links are key to search engine optimization success. Search engines base their rankings on the number of inbound links to your site from other websites that they consider authoritative in your field. So make sure that your link-building campaign is ongoing. Revisit it every few weeks or so, remembering that you’re never done and that you have to keep building links even when you achieve a high search engine ranking. Your competitors are constantly building their links too. If you stop building yours then you risk losing your top spot.

How to Do a Better Search Engine Optimization Than Rest
The problem with search engine optimization(SEO) is that almost all publishers and business owners online are trying it. This should not come as a surprise since SEO is considered as the key in doing well in the eyes of search engines. What this means is that in order to get ahead of the competition, then you must do your SEO much better than rest. This is the only way for you to get ahead with the rest that also take search engine optimization seriously.
Here are some suggestions on how you can out-do your competitors :
1. The most important thing to do is to research the keywords well and to do so use Google Keyword Tool. And when you have identified the keywords for use in the content pages and the site, then its best that you should use the keywords on the right places. The right places include insertions of the keywords on the title tags, the Meta tags and the Alt for images. The links should be properly formatted as well. When using the keywords on the content, it should be kept in mind that there is a science as well in using the keywords. Don't overdo the use of the keywords. Based on the experiences of experienced publishers, the keyword density for content should not exceed 2 percent. Even in terms of keyword placement, there is a rule in doing this. To many, it is best to put the keyword on the title, the first sentence, the second paragraph and on the last sentence.
2. Next up to the identification of keywords is the creation of great and helpful unique content. Users and readers should learn a thing or two about the content that you will provide. The better the content on the site, the higher the chances of being valued well by search engines. Also the contents that are posted on the site should be regularly updated, whether the update is daily or weekly it doesn't actually matter.

3. Try creating a Google site map which can be used by the search engine. There is a tool online that can guide you in the creation of the site map
4. Another good move is to publish the articles to article directories and other article submission websites. Now, this article should have links that will point back to your website. This is a good move since search engines like to look at the inward pointing links to the site. The higher the page ranking of the site that points to your site, the better.
5. And finally, it's best if you can read the suggestions offered by Google. The search engine giant has drafted its Webmaster Guidelines, detailing the best practices that should be adopted by anyone wishing to get noticed by Google.

Studies have revealed that 90% of Internet users find websites through search engines and out of those users, 90% do not go past the first 30 results displayed. With this in mind it is easy to see why it’s important for your website to rank high in these results. Rank High in search engines result pages (SERPs) means high traffic.
Must See : How and Why Should I Start Building Backlinks?
Search Engine Results Pages (SERP's) are the pages you see after you type in a search on Google or other search engines and click on the Search button. Because 90% of people use search engines to find what they are looking for these SERP’s are the most important pages on the internet.
The Search Engines Result Pages (SERP’s) can be broadly divided into two categories: “Organic” or ”Natural” listings and Paid Advertisements usually bought on a "Pay Per Click" (PPC) basis.
Roughly 80% of clicks at Google occur within the organic listings not the PPC listings. This is why is it important to get your site to rank naturally in the search engine result pages. Getting your site to rank high is not tricky; it’s just a matter of optimizing your website to be search engine friendly. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of engineering your website so it can be properly read by the search engine spiders. SEO is pretty much common sense, search engines are text analysis systems so if your webpage is full of images with little text your site will not rank high. You need to target each keyword/phrase on different pages.
The other aspect of getting high SERPs is trust and authority. It is kind of no different than any other business trying to gain trust and a good reputation. Forgetting the cyber world for a moment, in the real world established businesses have much more clout that new start up businesses. Like your favourite restaurant. If a new restaurant opened up just down the street you might not want to chance eating there and stick with your favourite restaurant. Now if you hear that its gaining a good reputation for good food you might then decide to try it out yourself. The same can be said about websites except the trust you get is via an algorithm. The more links you get from already established trusted (authoritive) sites the more Google will trust you. It makes sense really, because a good website will not link to a rubbish or not relevant website.
Another aspect of trust is by doing things with the search engines terms and conditions. This means building links naturally and using keywords excessively. Adding 500 pages in one day is not a naturally progression, search engines like websites to expand naturally, anything else and their warning lights flash which means they might look into your site and possibly penalise it.
So the only way to obtain high SERPs is to do everything the search engines like. This means building websites that are easy to navigate (so users and the crawlers can find every page easily) ,have lots of good relevant interesting content and plenty of trusted links. Make your website the best site on the internet in your chosen niche and you shouldn’t go far wrong.

Understanding Web Traffic - Pageviews, Hits, Impression, Unique Visitor
There are various of terms like Hits, Pageviews etc when it comes to calculation of web traffics. Some statistics give you report in terms of unique visitors some provides more – Pageviews, Hits, etc. Here's a brief explanations for those who are confuse how figures in these web statistic terms are generated. Also this explanation helps in understanding web traffic.
HITS
Hits is also known as request and it is the total number of files loaded when a single page is requested from the web server. So how hits are calculated? Suppose a single web page with 10 images (background.gif, transparent.gif etc)is loaded, that’s 10 hits for starters. The web page has 5 photos (example.jpg, photo.jpg, etc), that's another 5 hits. If you add up the JavaScripts, CSS files and all the external files, each time a web page is loaded, it can easily build up more than 50 hits. If you clear cache, reload the page, another 50+ hits again.
Nowadays, Hits are rarely used to judge a website traffic because they are not really accurate.
PAGEVIEWS
Pageviews is a calculation of how many times a page is viewed. Say a visitor lands on your main page, that's count 1 pageview. Same visitor clicks on another page, that's another pageview. By dividing total pageviews with total unique visitors, you can get an idea how many pageviews each visitor generates.
IMPRESSION
Impression is normally calculated in bulk of 1000. It counts how many times a element (image, text, video) appears on a web page. If a advertisement network is paying $3/CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions), that means you are getting paid $3 when the banner appears 1000 times on your web page.
UNIQUE VISITORS
Unique visitors are normally equivalent to visits. Think of it as the number of different people (different IP) that visits your web page. Unique visitors or visits are the most important numbers of among all(pageviews, impression, hits), when it comes to determine the traffic of a specific website.

SEO Tips and Tricks for Powerful Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization(SEO) Tips and Tricks you should and should not be doing on your Web pages to make them rank higher in search engines. This list looks at more than just meta tags and basics of SEO, so even if you've got some of the factors, you may not have everything. Scroll to the end of the list to look at the things you should never be doing, as well as the things you should always do at the beginning.
If you are too blatant about stuffing keywords, you could get your site banned from search engines.

Write Great Content (High Priority)
Great content is where it all starts. You can have all the keywords in the world, but if your content is no good, people won't stick around on your site and search engines won't find your site valuable.Add new Content all the time (High Priority)
Sites that have new content added on a regular basis are seen as more reliable than sites that rarely do. This also helps you to increase the amount of relevant content on your site, which also improves your rankings.Create a Great Keyword Phrase (High Priority)
The first thing you should do when working on search engine optimization is find a great keyword phrase for that page. You shouldn't try to optimize your entire site to one keyword phrase - instead focus on writing pages for specific keywords and phrases.Create an Aceessible Site (High Priority)
Accessible HTML is accessible to both search engine spiders and screen readers. The more accessible you make your pages, the easier it will be for search engines to read and rank your pages.Use Keyword Phrase in Your Title Tag (High Priority)
The title tag is one of the most important tags on your Web page. And placing your keyword phrase in the title tag, preferably at the beginning, is very important to get that phrase into the search engines. Plus, that puts your keyword phrase as the link in the search engine index.Create as much Content as you can (Medium Priority)
Content plays an important role for any site you can say that it is king. The more content you have on your site, the more there is to be indexed and appear in search engines.Create a Sitemap (Medium Priority)
Search engines love sitemaps - not necessarily for ranking, but for finding links on your site. It's not critical that you create an XML sitemap or Google sitemap, plain HTML sitemaps work just as well.Use 301 Redirects for Permanent Redirects (Medium Priority)
When you redirect your pages, you should always use a 301 http server redirect. This tells the search engines that the redirect is permanent and that they should change their index to use the new URL. Spammers use other types of redirects (HTTP 302 redirects and meta refresh), so they are not a good idea to use.Put your Keyword Phrase in First Paragraph (Medium Priority)
Repetition of your keyword phrase is important in your content. But it's especially important in the first one or two paragraphs of text. And if you can repeat it once in the first paragraph that will help up it's priority.Link your page from within your Site (Medium Priority)
Links are important, and linking from one page to another on your own site is a very easy way to get links. They aren't as important in search engine ranking as links from external sites, but they do help. If nothing else, they help the search engine spider find all the pages on your site.Optimize for a few Secondary Keywords (Low Priority)
Once you have a keyword phrase, you can choose one or two other keywords to optimize for as well. But be careful with these - make sure that the density of your secondary keywords is no more than 1-2%. Any higher and you risk confusing the search engine and diluting the power of your primary keyword phrase.Use the Meta Keyword tag & include your Keyword Phrase (Low Priority)
Meta tags are a very popular way to improve search engine results, but the fact of the matter is that some major search engines don't use them at all, and others only use them a little. It won't hurt to include your keyword phrase and any secondary keywords in the meta keywords tag, but don't expect it to work wonders.Don't Host your Site with Host that allows Spammer (Avoid)
This means any type of spammers, but especially search engine spammers. If you don't know what your host's policy is towards spammers, find out. There should be something in their terms and conditions about malicious activity. If your IP is blacklisted, you'll be blacklisted right along with it, even if your site is completely innocent.Don't Write your Content with JavaScript (Avoid)
While search engines won't penalize a site for using JavaScript, they don't typically index the contents of the scripts. So if your pages use JavaScript to display the contents, it will be harder to get high ranks for those pages. This includes pages that use scripts to show and hide text and pages that use Ajax for the content.Don't Use your Keyword Phrase too much (Avoid)
Keyword stuffing is the practice of repeating your keywords or keyword phrases over and over in a page until there is nearly no other text than the keyword phrase. Check your keyword density to determine if you have used it too much. 10% or higher is too much.If you are too blatant about stuffing keywords, you could get your site banned from search engines.
