  • Youtube, no doubt, is the number 1 video sharing website e with millions of people sharing and watching videos everyday. You might've come across lot of Youtube videos that display an error message saying "The Uploader has not made this video available in your country".

The reason for those videos been blocked is because the content owners (Video owners) have allowed only a few countries or geographical regions to access that video.

How do they Find out Users Geographic location?

Every computer will have an IP address which will replicate their country or geographical location. Youtube will make use of this IP address to find out from which country you're watching the video.

Why did they Block Youtube Video in my country?

In most situations, it's because of the availability of copyright to that video in your country. Say for example, "Stop Calling it's a Honeymoon" is a video clip uploaded by BBC channel. However, BBC has the license to only display that video in their country and so they block the other countries where they've no permission or license to display those videos.

How to Watch Blocked Youtube Videos?

Though youtube has blocked a particular video from watching in your country, you can watch it using a simple work around.

For example, the actual Youtube video URL looks like below

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4P3j8dh2ro

    Simply replace watch?v= with v/

    Now, it becomes http://www.youtube.com/v/F4P3j8dh2ro
Open the modified URL in your browser and you'll now be able to watch the video without any problem.
